Línia Barcelona-Vallès or Metro del Vallès is the collective name under which several 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in) (standard-gauge) rail lines operated by the Catalan rail company Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) are known. They serve several areas of Vallès and the metropolitan area of Barcelona, and their common terminus is the railway station in Plaça de Catalunya, Barcelona. Its main depot is in Rubí: COR - Centre d'Operacions de Rubí.
While the name Línia Barcelona - Vallès implies a regular commuter train service, the denomination Metro del Vallès —even if still far from being a proper metro network— hints at FGC's aims of establishing a coherent inter-urban rapid transit service. Two of the biggest cities in the Barcelona metropolitan area, Sabadell and Terrassa, are developing their own subways: Sabadell Metro and Terrassa Metro, which will be part of this network. There is a Barcelona Metro line which is part of the line, but is not of Metro del Vallès, L7, named after Carrer de Balmes, which runs from Plaça Catalunya to Avinguda Tibidabo, making up the so-called "Balmes line" or línia de Balmes.
